CGD Roofing Inc. is built on craftsmanship, precision and honesty. We specialise in standing seam systems with on-site fabrication, working from Barrie across the whole of Ontario.
Most roofing companies in Ontario will sell you a metal roof. Very few of them make one.
That distinction is the whole reason CGD Roofing exists. We own our roll-forming equipment and bring it to site, which means every panel on your roof is formed on your property, that day, to the exact length of your slope. It is a fundamentally different product from ordering fixed-length panels from a supplier and lapping them together on the roof — and the difference shows up not in year one, but in year twenty-five, when those laps are the only part of the roof that has ever leaked.
We are based in Barrie, which puts us within easy reach of Simcoe County, Muskoka, Grey Bruce, the Kawarthas, York Region and the GTA. Those are the areas we work most. We travel further for larger residential and commercial projects, and we will tell you plainly if a job is too small or too far for us to serve you properly.

We are fully licensed, fully insured, and committed to maintaining a safe work environment. This is not boilerplate. Steep metal roofing in Ontario weather is among the more dangerous trades there is, and a company that cuts corners on crew safety is cutting them everywhere else too. Ask any roofer you are considering for proof of coverage before work begins — a legitimate contractor will produce it immediately.

How we work
Enquiry, then a site visit or drone survey, then a measured written quote with the assembly specified — gauge, seam type, finish, underlayment, snow retention, and what is and is not included. Then a scheduled install, usually three to six days on a typical residential roof, and a full cleanup including a magnet sweep for stray fasteners.
Nothing about that process is unusual. It just requires actually doing it, which is where most of the frustration homeowners have with roofers comes from.

Metal only
We are not a general roofer with a metal sideline. Standing seam is what we do every day — the forming, the bending, the flashing and the seaming are all in-house, and all done by people who do it constantly.
Formed on your property
Our roll former travels. Panels are made on your driveway to the exact slope length, which means no factory lead time, no shipping kinks, and no horizontal laps part-way up the roof.
Measured, not estimated
We quote from a site visit or a drone survey. A number given over the phone before anyone has seen the deck is not a quote — it is a way of getting a deposit and revising later.
Straight answers
If overlaying will not work on your deck, we will say so. If exposed-fastener metal is the right call on your drive shed, we will say that too, even though it is the cheaper sale.

Fully licensed and insured, with a working safety programme. Steep metal in Ontario weather is genuinely dangerous work and we treat it that way.
Built to outlast the mortgage
A 24 gauge standing seam roof installed properly is a 40+ year assembly. We build assuming we will never be back — which is the only honest way to build a roof.
