Collingwood takes lake-effect snow straight off Georgian Bay with the escarpment behind it forcing the accumulation down. It is one of the snowiest places we work, and it also has some of the most design-conscious clients in our area between the older downtown and the newer builds toward Blue Mountain.

The combination pushes almost every Collingwood project toward 24 gauge with a PVDF finish and carefully mapped snow retention. Long clean panel lines suit the contemporary chalet look, and the assembly underneath handles the load.

A metal roof is not one product. These are the conditions that change the assembly here.
Snowfall totals here run well ahead of inland Simcoe. Clip spacing and retention layout are sized to the site-specific ground snow load rather than a regional default.
Matte black and charcoal dominate current Collingwood builds. Those colours need PVDF rather than SMP to hold their finish against snow-reflected UV.

Quote the Platinum systemEvery project is quoted from a site visit or drone survey — roof complexity, tear-off versus overlay, gauge, finish and access all move the number, and none of them can be assessed from a postcode.
More than the building beneath it, when specified properly. Load transfers through the panel into concealed clips, and we tighten clip spacing to the ground snow load for your address. The limiting factor is usually the roof structure, not the metal.

Maintenance
A useful roof report names what was found, where, and what it means for remaining life. A useless one is a photo album with a quote stapled to it. Here is how to tell them apart.
